Summer Body Goals: Keeping It Real With Yourself

A woman in a straw hat relaxes on a sunny beach, enjoying the clear blue sky and ocean waves.

Look, I get it. When summer starts peeking around the corner, that little voice pops up saying, “Should I try to get beach ready? Been there, felt that!

Here’s the thing: I’ve spent way too many springs chasing some magazine-worthy summer body that left me exhausted and, honestly, kinda miserable by the time June rolled around. Not. Worth. It.

What I’ve learned (the hard way, of course) is that how I FEEL in summer matters so much more than how I look in those Instagram photos.

Some real talk: I started focusing on having enough energy to actually enjoy those summer adventures, you know, hiking with friends without feeling like I’m dying, or having the stamina to spend all day at the beach instead of needing a nap after an hour. Game-changer!

The simplest switch that made the biggest difference? My water bottle became my BFF. Sounds basic, I know! But properly hydrating changed everything from my energy levels to how I felt in the summer heat.

And movement? I finally ditched the workouts I dreaded and found stuff that makes me smile. Dancing at outdoor concerts counts! So, does that scenic bike ride or catching waves at the beach? It’s all valid movement, and it feels like living instead of punishing.

When it comes to food, I stopped with the whole summer diet nonsense and started thinking about adding all the amazing summer produce instead. Have you TASTED fresh berries and farmer’s market veggies in season? That’s the good stuff your body actually craves!

Remember this: Summer isn’t waiting for you to look a certain way. It’s here for you to ENJOY, in whatever body you’re rocking right now.

What summer activities are YOU looking forward to feeling strong and energised for this year?
